Anyone else having flash video freeze their 27" iMac with lion??
details
Post 10.7, after a sleep cycle trying to play a flash video in any browser with crash the OS, only the mouse cursor will work, everything else is completely frozen. Others have reported this is not a flash problem, as any h.264 video will invoke this crash... I have disabled sleep for the time-being until a patch is released. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3191134?start... https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3194165?start...

Vmware vs parallels
details
I weighed the pros and cons of going boot camp vs parallels for my work mac, and decided to go parallels. I'm using a trial version of vmware and so far am very impressed with the unity mode. I haven't yet tried Parallels software. Am I best off to stick with vmware or should I try Parallels?

Looking for a good M/F 3.5mm TRRS extension (4pole mic passthru)
details
Just bought some Bowers & Wilkins P5 headphones primarily for use with both my iPhone and iMac. I've noticed that a little extra slack would be nice to provide more freedom of movement when using the headphones with the iMac, and it seemed like an extension cable would solve this and simultaneously add the connivence of plugging-in without 'reach-around' port groping, as well as to reduce the strain on the headphone cable sheathing by transferring the 180 degree bend from the headphones to the... Traveling with this beast
details
I'll be living in Shanghai for the next four months and will need my computer. Does anyone have any suggestions on traveling with the iMac? I would prefer not mailing it, but don't know how safe checking it would be. Any suggestions would be great!! Thanks.

This may not pertain exactly to this product, but it's the one I own so I figured it's best.
details
Anyway, I've only owned this computer for about 6 months, so I assume it should still be under warranty. However even if it's not, I want to pay to get it fixed as it's driving me insane. My iMac's hard drive has recently been running really loudly. It varies from doing so constantly, to only when first turned on, and launching applications. What I've tried... -- Reformat/install OSX -- Running Apple's Hardware Test -- Resetting SMC So, my question is, would this be... Read more →

Has anyone put in 3rd party memory into the Intel iMacs? I've got the Fall 2009 27" model with 2x2GB and it's time to upgrade.
details
Definitely not paying $800 for 2x4GB when there are cheaper alternatives. I've been searching Newegg and they've got iRam memory, which is (according to them) tested in identical machines to guarantee compatibility. I can pick up 4x4GB for about $250, which would be awesome, but I want to see if anyone's put in third party memory, especially had any experience with iRam. I imagine that if it doesn't work, I can immediately return it and just put my stock memory back and go...

Strictly speaking this isn't a support problem, but rather a case of Apple removing a feature for no apparent reason, and some of you should be aware of…
details
it. With the move to the core i# chips, Apple also switched to the Broadcom chipset. So what, you ask? So, they completely removed any and all support for Jumbo Frames at the hardware level. Well is that a big deal? Yes! if you store lots of big file on an external server accessed via ethernet it is. Pulling down big files can take 15% to 25% less time using JF (assuming that your server device suports JF as well). My MacBook and MacMini support jumbo frames. iMac, not so much. Apple will not... Can you put normal 2.5" drives into the "SSD drive bay?
details
" The new iMac has a second drive bay, allowing a user on Apple's website to choose to add a secondary, SSD based drive. Alternatively, they can (not very easily) add a drive to the computer themselves at a later time. My question is, does anyone know if this secondary drive bay is limited to SSD drives, or can you throw in a 2.5" laptop drive in its place?

Having an issue connecting my 24-inch Dell LCD to my new iMac, am hoping it's just an issue with the mini DisplayPort adapter.
details
Tried it with two different DVI cables and another monitor and have the exact same problem: the iMac can detect the monitor (like see that an external monitor is detected, what kind it is, etc) and even let me arrange position and all that, but no picture is viewable on the external monitor. Guess I'll make a run to Best Buy or the Apple Store for a replacement, anyone else encountered a similar problem?

When will apple update the iMac?
details
I feel like they could put an i3 in the base model and maybe beef up the graphics because they seem a tad bit week especially if i keep the mac for 4 years or so and do some gaming(like Trine and Starcraft 2). Im hoping for mid-August update but i feel like they wont do it until september
