The Apple External Hard Drive was manufactured by LaCie and sold as an Apple-branded product (under exclusive license) from April 1994. The unit could be placed horizontally or vertically, and featured a front-mounted power button and a push-button SCSI ID selector behind a pop-up panel. Initially available in 160MB, 230MB, 500MB, and 1GB capacities, it was later offered in 2, 4, and 9 GB models.
