iPhone 5 Headed Into Production – Summer 2012 Release Likely FEBRUARY 1, 2012 It looks like the iPhone 5 might be available to consumers much sooner than many have predicted. According to 9to5mac.com, the iPhone is close to going into production–or at least that’s what an unnamed source from Foxconn in China tells the site. Foxconn, of course, has a contract with Apple to manufacture iPhones, so this report might just hold some weight to it. iPhone 5 Release Date Rumors As you might recall,...

The way I see it, this fragmentation - with allowing the OEMs to add their own little flavor to the vanilla Android OS (Blur for Motorola, Sense for HTC, etc.), it just delays all the phones from being instantly updated. That much is obvious. Microsoft did it right, just like Apple - they told the OEMs, essentially saying: "There will be no tweaking of the Windows Mobile OS. It will be deployed as is." This allows them to push out updates instantly to every phone out there at the same time,...

Lately I've discovered the beauty of free online classes via iTunesU. Has anyone else taken or is currently taking a class on iTunesU. If you have, which classes would you highly recommend? What's your thoughts on iTunesU?
I have been searching everywere for iTunes for android but I can't find it, is there even a iTunes for android or what. I have had iTunes for a long time and I have not had a single problem with it.
I just heard a fascinating monologue on NPR's "This American Life" about the manufacturing plants in China where devices from Apple, Dell, and hundreds of other consumer electronic companies come from. Has anyone else had a chance to listen to it? Any thoughts or reflections on the experiences of the narrator, an avowed Apple fanboy himself?
Hello to all I've got a web based application where users register themself on the server in order to synchronise data like emails, contacts, notes, etc. One step in the registration process is the verification of the device, so the user receives an sms containing a short code to his cell phone. The user has to enter this code into the webapplications form which will then compare the entered with the sent code.. The sms is sent through an sms Gateway with SMTP (e.g. 0795556677@smsgatway.local).....

Who's in the market for a new HDTV? Not me, that's for sure. After hearing that this will likely only be useful for people with tvs that have come out very recently I think it's a bummer. I guess this is how Roku gets out of the set top box market--because if it doesn't look like a set top box, but it plays like a set top box and smells like a set top box, maybe it isn't a set top box? Because, you know, people hate set top boxes. I agree that buying a Smart TV isn't a good decision with how fast...

Just purchased this router, I tried to follow the instructions on using time machine with my external drive attached to the router. No luck. Any suggestions?
A number of sources are speculating that the new iPad 3, which is expected to be announced within the next two months, could possibly see an increase in resolution, a new processor, thinner and lighter design, and an improved camera.
What do you think the next iPad will look like? What changes would you like to see most?
We all know by now that this year's iPhone wasn't the rumored "iPhone 5". This rumored model will probably end up being next year's model, with more current specs for next years timing. So now I'm wondering what they might call it. I really doubt that they'll call it the iPhone 5 since the iPhone 4S is the 5th generation iPhone. Ideas?
http://www.engadget.com/2011/12/19/lightpad-connects-your-smartphone-to-an-11-inch-screen-expands/ LightPad to the rescue! Boom, the versatility of a smartphone, no need to buy a smartphone and tablet to be a "road warrior." This is what I have been looking for in that you don't need a third device, you just have to be able to use your phone in conjunction with a peripheral that allows you to be more productive. This will be demoed at CES and is for sure purely a concept thing, my hope is that big...

Platform wars Two crucial factors, interface and information management. The mastery of both is the winner. iOS started with the mastery of the interface by giving us a device which manages the music masterfully. This is where we live, where the human soul survives. Music is our spiritual expressions of our hopes and longings. The iPod gave us management of this in a sleek device and interface. Simple to use so it didn't get in the way of what people were really wanting, an easy and elegant...

I have a class coming up starting January 5 I will need widows 7. I use a Mac and do not want to use 7 but most of the work will be done learning the lower levels of the Microsoft OS. I have been planing to use VMware or Parallels. My Question is I don't want Window open all the time and I do not want to slow down my mac with windows in the background. I would like to have it open on a 2nd desk top using lion. Can I do this with out full integration just have Widows running on the side? How will...

By now we all know that Siri has an attitude and a sense of humor, but once you've come to terms with that, how practically useful is it? How often does it actually recognize and do what you want it to do? i.e. does it work the way it does in the ads?
Wondering what folks like as far as iPhone 4S car mounts/cradles. Preferably looking for something that swivels and has power/aux cords. But the key factor is that the mount functions well. My car has a lighter outlet at base of center console and cup holders. Would consider window mounts as well.
My daughter recently acquired a new iPod touch. As she was enthusiastically going through the process of adding music, videos, apps, and photos to her device, she asked me a question that has lingered with me and one which I think merits sharing with my gdgt community. Her question was "How come there are two different stores on my iPod?" She pointed out that while on the computer all available content can be downloaded from the iTunes application, on iOS she has to go to the iTunes application...

The new ultrabooks that have been coming out have been comparable in price with MacBook Airs, but a MacBook Pro is still way more expensive than its Windows counterparts. Why is this?
I'm currently looking on upgrading my computer rig with a new monitor (change a small 14 inch monitor to a 24 inch on my three monitor setup. I have a Windows desktop, two Apple laptops (newest Macbook Pro 13-inch, and newest Macbook Air 13-inch, one work, one private). My long-term "dream" would be to somehow have three operating system on three monitors. My first gut-feeling was building a Hackintosh, throw in 3 SSD-hardrives and triple boot. But I recently thought I could somehow connect my...

I am about to replace the storage in my MacBook Air and plan to simply restore all my data from a Time Machine backup. Will I need to deactivate my iTunes account before I do the restore to avoid using another activation post restore?
It costs atleast $200 more in India than in the USA, so if there is a place in India, preferably in Chennai, where I can get it for its 'actual' retail price, it would be great.
It seems that as every iPhone comes out, they seem to get heavier. The 3GS was 4.8 ounces (135 grams), the 4 was 4.8 ounces (137 grams) and the 4S was 4.9 ounces (140 grams). They are continually getting heavier. Will the iPhone 5 be even heavier or will they give the weight some attention and decrease it???
I'm a Digital Tech (fancy name for camera assistant) and I'm also a student. A lot of the teachers and students around campus have been drooling over Thunderbolt because it's not USB 3.0. Which most of them don't really understand what's important about having thunderbolt. I tether a lot at school and moving files. I'm also using both Apple, PC and Linux products. The only thing that would really compare to thunderbolt in speed would be Fibre but cost and maintenance is kind of out of reach for...

I have AT&T with a grandfathered unlimited data plan but prefer Verizon's performance. I am using an iphone 3gs. Itunes frakked my music collection and I hate it. I need Exchange support, though we do have a BES in house. Security is the most important. Had a BB curve a couple of years ago it was SOOOooo Slow and I had to pull the battery so often, I installed the battery puller app.
I wanted to buy myself an iPhone, but then I saw the advert. of Samsung Galaxy Nexus on the tv and I started wondering wich phone is better? I know they are hardly comparable because of the different OS they are using. But wich of the phones would you prefer to have or already have?
I've purchased a MacBook Air Superdrive which I would like to flash to make it a region free drive, the model number is HL-DT-ST DVDRW GX30N. Any ideas?
Hey guys. Need a favor. I'd like to upgrade from my trusty Dell Inspiron 1427 laptop. Let me know any suggestions you have for a Midrange laptop (13-15 inches / 4Gb Memory/ 320 to 500Gb HDD/ midrange graphics card) and if it has an option for a backlit keyboard..
