Simple and easy to use is the name of the game in the end, which is more than fine for the 10-foot living room experience, since Apple TV doesn't really have all THAT many functions once you break it down. ...The only question you have to ask yourself to justify this purchase is whether or not...

If it was 2005, I'd rave, but it's 2009 and I've had one for two years. No apps, no removable media (which some people want but I'm ambivalent to) no media server utilities, you can't add storage, etc. What I want is the current interface in a box that is a media server...

It was great for a replacement for a DVD player. It had onboard storage and didn't need a computer to buy items. If it had netflix it would have been perfect.

Won this at a xmas raffle, didn't really use it at first, but now it's a big part of my home setup. Great for streaming netcasts or internet radio. Nice that you can sync movies to the HD or stream content from your entire collection.

At its simplest, you could say that Apple TV is like an iPod that you connect to your home theater. You can take anything in your iTunes library and experience it in the living room, the bedroom, kitchen, or anywhere else you have an HDTV. It isn't without its faults but it gets the job done...

Apple TV is okay out of the box. Very easy to rent movies and play music from iTunes collection. I hacked Boxee into it and now it really rocks. I love Boxee on Apple TV!
