The Apple TV upgraded the other day and everything was fine. I mirrored everything on my ipad2. Today I wake up to find I can't mirror my ipad2 as my airplay icon is gone. I turned the ipad2 off then back on but still no airplay icon on my ipad2. #wtf
I've had an original Apple TV just sitting in a box for ages now. It's not really useful for anything, considering the Apple TV software it runs is old and won't be updated. It's almost not even worth it to recycle -- I think Gazelle will give me a total of $35 for it! So, I've been looking at Mac minis to run as cheap server at home. Would the original Apple TV possibly fit that bill? Is possible to jailbreak and hack it so that I could run it as a headless server at home?
I am thinking of picking one one of the new Mac Mini's and using it as a home server, i basically have 3 major uses in mind for it and want to make sure it will work the way i want it to before i go ahead and spend 600-1000$ for a new mini. I'm an Android guy, so I don't have an iPhone or an iPad so I can't stream HBO Go content via AirPlay over to my Apple TV. How can I watch HBO Go Content?

There's a multitude of options. Apple TV (too restrictive), Roku or Boxee boxes (bit expensive for my likings), numerous HDMI docking stations, WD TV I have a 1TB esata drive that I'd like to use for playback rather than going the wireless route, although would consider wireless. Any suggestions around the $100 mark?
All of a sudden within the past two weeks when I try to sit down and watch some HD podcasts such as Tekzilla they say the video is not compatible. Everything worked fine until recently and it is occurring on multiple podcasts.

Does anyone have problems with the HDMI on this thing? For the three years I have had it the display on my Philips HDTV is iffy at best occasionally being skewed or distorted. Sometimes I get no image at all The only solution appears to be turn the TV on and off (sometimes multiple times) until I get a clean image. While I can do all the different parts they enable individually, its a pain in my butt and it would be grrreat if I could have one box attached the TV/interwebs to bring it all together. I did the latest update to my apple tv to 3.0.2. Now I have no video (audio is there) on anything. Video podcast (streamed or downloaded), youtube. What the hell
Updated to 3.0 as soon as it was available and now the performance of the 160GB, 3 month old unit I have is not as good as before. For the first time ever it crashed and restarted, and since the crash it has been having trouble resuming playback after pausing. Never had this issue before, anyone else got the same issue?
Ever since the last software update, when I turn my display on it won't sync to the HDMI signal from the Apple TV. If I reboot the Apple TV it's fine. The display is a Dell 24" widescreen display (native 1080). Anyone else seen this, or - even better - have a fix?
