Detailed review
One thing that needs to be said about the Fire is something I think people don't seem to understand. This is not a tablet. It's not trying to take the place of an iPad. Amazon has never made that claim so comparing it to one is not fair. It is an eReader that does some extra things. Plus it's only $199.99.
So far I am loving my Fire. I've had two of the E-ink Kindles so I wasn't sure if I was going to like reading on a back-lit screen. So far it's been very good. No eye strain at all which was one of my really big concerns. I've read some reviews where people where saying it wasn't responsive or snappy. I haven't come across that at all yet. All in all I am really satisfied with the Fire.
