Remember the news earlier this year that Apple threatened publishers to remove links in their apps that allowed people to purchase content from non-Apple sanctioned stores? Amazon announced that they'll begin selling a cheaper version of their popular Kindle that displays ads on the devices screen when it is not in use. The net is buzzing today with Amazon's launch of their new Cloud Drive service, that provides 5GB of free storage to all existing customers, allowing them to store documents, photos, and even music in the cloud and giving them access / playback on customer's computers and Android devices. Are you excited about this particular service or similar services? Amazon has apparently preempted both Google and Apple in their own endeavors at cloud storage.

Can someone help me?? My kindle 3's screen appears off, but when I try to turn it on, it doesn't. I tried the 15 second reset but it didn't work. I know that the battery is fully charged because the green light appears and just in case, I left it charging a whole day anyway.
I just got a Kindle Touch and it seems fantastic, but I'd like a little more protection for that gorgeous screen. I'd love for something along the lines of the iPad 2's smart cover, which doesn't add much bulk to the device itself but still guards the tablet well.
Any recommendations? Amazon's leather lighted cover seems nice, but it's way more expensive than I'd hoped.

One of the reasons I've enjoyed purchasing music from Amazon is because I get actual MP3's. However, I seem to recall that in the past, they wouldn't remember past purchases. I have installed the Kindle for iOS App on my iPad and my iPhone, I recently purchased some books from Amazon and delivered it to my iPad. But the iPhone doesn't have those books on it, despite having registered all the devices under my name?
Is there a limit on the number of devices (i.e. Kindles, iOS devices, Computers) that content purchased from a single Amazon account can be used on? Something on the lines of iTunes which allows you a maximum of 10 devices (maximum 5 computers) to use content from a single account?
I am interested in buying a tablet for watching video, playing games and web browsing. The Kindle Fire looks like an interesting product. Although I love Apple products, I do not want to shell out for an iPad, already owning an iPod Touch and a MacBook. Questions: - Will the tablet even work in Europe? - Could I buy content for it via the Amazon store? - If not, could I put my own media content on it?
After the presentation of new Kindle serie ereaders I am thinking about which ereader I should buy. I am considering mainly format support, price and usability outside US as I live in Brazil. Is it possible to side-load content into the Kindle Fire? Can one download an .apk from the Google Marketplace and install it via side-load? What about movies, music, and pictures?
So the basic Kindle can now be acquired for as little as $79. It doesn't have a touchscreen and it doesn't have a keyboard. How exactly does one interact with this thing? I'm sure flipping pages can be done easily with back/forward buttons, but how do I search for a book I want to download? Does it have a TiVo-like text input experience?
I was looking at a few items on Amazon and a couple of items caught my eye. They were "AmazonBasics" products that included SD cards, wall mounts, HDMI cables, etc. I mean I trust Amazon as a seller, but what about as a product manufacturer. Or are they just rebranding items from another company?

The iBooks library seems lacking and only non-DRM ePub books are compatible with it (I think). What's the Pros and Cons of Kindle/Nook/iBooks? I will primarily be using the related iPhone Apps to buy books/read.
We have been hearing rumors of the Kindle tablet for a couple of months now. August is approaching when the last Kindle came out and people are expecting a Kindle refresh in light of the Kobo Touch and Kindle 2. Question is though is the next Kindle just going to be a tablet with no refresh on the current eink one? Will we just see the eink Kindle drop to $99 or something or are people expecting an new eink device from Amazon?
