Conclusion: Pass on it

The Acer ICONIA Tab A510 is a fast Android tablet with an average display, above-average battery life, and a thick, slightly heavy profile compared with sleeker tablets like the iPad 2 and the Asus Transformer Pad 300. And, compared to those two tablets, which are lower priced, there's no compelling reason to buy the A510. The A510 isn't a terrible tablet; it's just an average product being sold at what is now an above-average price. If you're looking for a good 10-inch Android tablet, the Transformer Pad 300 has a better display, and its signature (optional) keyboard dock. And if you're looking for the best all-around tablet for under $400, the iPad 2 is still the way to go.

With its bleeding-edge quad-core performance, exceptional battery life and all the benefits of Ice Cream Sandwich, this is a 10-incher worth its slightly heavier weight.

Eh, it's a pretty good tablet, but at $450, it's not good enough. Acer put a great processor in here, but the screen is extremely underwhelming. And the bulk just makes it feel older than it is.

It’s only real rival at this price-tag is the hybrid Asus Transformer 300 but, if you want to keep it simple, and save yourself a few quid at the same time, you can’t ignore the Acer Iconia Tab A510.

This tablet is not deserving of its mediocre 7.0. I am so far very impressed with this second kick at the can by Acer. It has a ton of horsepower, everything I have asked it to do so far it has done so without breaking a sweat. The screen is good. I have no issue with how it looks and it...
