If I only owned this tablet and an iPad 2, would I use this tablet more often than the iPad? Personally, no, but that’s because I’m hardcore Android Community and I’ve gotta represent. Might someone else use the iPad 2 more? Probably. Apple has a much more massive hold over the world’s...

The Android tablet wars are starting to heat up, and Acer has entered the fray with its Iconia Tab A500. Priced at $449--$50 lower than the iPad 2--this slickly designed 10.1-inch Honeycomb slate features a brushed-metal design and a full-size USB port, plus Nvidia's powerful Tegra 2 processor. But...

This is my next Apr 27, 2011

To be honest, the Iconia Tab A500 exceeded my expectations. After years of reviewing Acer laptops with crappy LCDs and cheap plastic parts, I expected the company to take a similar route with its tablets, but instead, I was impressed with the manufacturing quality (at least for the price), the...

The Acer Iconia Tab A500 is the latest in the parade of Android 3.0 tablets, and with a price that undercuts Apple's iPad 2 by $50, the $450 Iconia Tab (price as of 4/23/2011) distinguishes itself in a crowded field. This tablet earns props for its many strengths, such as its inclusion of both a USB...

All in all, the Acer Iconia Tab A500 is a solid piece of hardware, if you have to have an Android tablet right now, but we don't know if we could recommend it in good conscience over some of the competitors on offer.

Update after 4 months: The hardware is fine, Honeycomb however is a mess and seems less functional now then when I first bought thid thing: the pitiful range of tablet specifc apps speaks to this I think. Even Google has yet to update anything other than their core apps (which to be fair are very...

This tablet has its bugs, but all in all I think the design, and features it has makes those bugs nothing more then a minor, and I mean minor, annoyance. I love the multitasking of Honeycomb, and the speed of the dual core tegra makes this thing fly. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Punataro

I use it for a while now, but still don't like the Honeycomb OS, it's performance lagging, buggy. The need of Task Killer is painful - not easy to use et'al'.

Only thing vlholding it back is the buggy ness of honeycomb. The full size USB is super handy to veiw photos and files quickly.

This is one of the most functional and beautiful tablets I found when shopping around for a tablet. The USBalone puts it miles ahead of most other tablets, and all other features are as good as, or better , the competition.
