Here is my current setup with my aspire revo 1600. I made 2 nice upgrades from the base system. One is upgrading the RAM to 2GB, and I threw Windows 7 Home Premium on it. I am using it exclusively with Windows Media Center for a complete HTPC + DVR setup. I use over the air HD via an antenna. Running XBMC Live on it

I thought at first that perhaps I needed the Aspirerevo 3600+ but this machine is doing the trick beautifully, I'm running XBMC Live with the Alaska skin, everything flows very smoothly. 1080p video plays great with and sound is good enough (through HDMI). The install at first was took a little work because XBMC Live 9.11 b1 is designed for a CD install, but all it took was a small file edit and everything worked well from there.
