... the Aspire S7, the best-made Ultrabook Acer has put out, with a stunning 1080p display and that same fast performance we recorded on the S5. One problem, though: Acer never did figure out the battery life.

The Aspire S7 is one of the thinnest, lightest touchscreen Ultrabooks around, and has one of the best displays available on any laptop. As Engadget puts it, "the S7's 1080p, IPS screen is one of the loveliest laptop displays we've seen in some time, the sort of panel that puts other laptops to shame." Laptop Mag calls the L7's design "jaw dropping" and praises its 10-point touchscreen as letting users "experience Windows 8 the way Microsoft intended." While the S7 is expensive, and its battery life is shorter than it should be (an issue with many Windows 8 touchscreen laptops), it's still, as Laptop puts it, "the sleekest Windows 8 machine on the planet."

All in all, the S7-391 is a nice laptop to use and show off. It would be nice to have an 8GB option and better battery life, but neither is essential for the vast majority of users. The design and overall usability are top notch. And it's an eye-catching system, sure to draw attention.

Read the full review →The thinnest and sexiest ultrabook we've seen is a touch-screen showpiece for Windows 8, as speedy as it is convenient and a sure-fire hit for the executive suite. But it's not cheap, and battery life could be better.

Thankfully, they sold them with "English" keyboards, which means, all the key sizes are correct and not cut in half to accommodate "French" keys. Looking forward to seeing how this notebook holds up to travel. Very happy so far.
