With every company and its dog making an ultrabook, which would you say is the all-round best? Taking in the factors of battery life, size, SSD and price, which trumps the rest? I've heard good things about Dell's and Toshiba's efforts, but I need your help in crowning a champion!

I'm about to get a new laptop, and I'm not sure which one to choose. I run Ubuntu Linux as my everyday OS, so the only thing that really matters is the hardware and form factor of the laptop. The Macbook Pro seems to have everything down extremely well, but I never liked that it has no number pad or dedicated Home and End buttons.
The Dell Inpsiron I have now is okay, but the hardware feels a bit cheap and the touchpad is not very good.
