Conclusion: We like it

The Aspire 5750 is a basic laptop that can handle all home-office tasks, audio and video streaming, and modest gaming, at a very good price. It has a solid, sturdy, comfortable keyboard, a fairly average 1366 x 768 display, a reasonably fast processor, and a single USB 3.0 port for high-speed data transfer. While its battery life could be better and it shouldn't be your first choice for gaming or video-editing, the 5750 is still a reasonable choice if you're looking for a sub-$500 laptop that can meet the typical day-to-day needs of home or small-business workers and students.

The Acer Aspire 5750G isn't the best-looking laptop around and its screen isn't wonderful either, but it really does delivery some serious processing power for a very reasonable amount of money.

If you don't want to pay a high price for a high-end processor like the Sandy Bridge Core i7, the Aspire 5750G is a way to get the performance and reasonable battery life, without breaking the budget.

Its screen's poor viewing angles and contrast hold it back from an outright recommendation, but if these issues don't bother you and you're just looking for a solid laptop that does the job, Acer has produced a decent machine at a superb price.

The Acer Aspire 5750 is a decent family laptop, for anyone looking to do the basics of computing on a budget. We were big fans of the style and colour, but when you dig deeper, you'll find that corners have been cut in the materials and build quality.
