This is my secondary monitor at work, and is oriented in the portrait mode so that I can maximize how many lines of code I can get on it at once. It works okay for this purpose, but the viewing angle is extremely limited in this orientation and is never particularly sharp. That being said for the price you'd be hard pressed to get a better monitor, and at 22 inches I have lots of viewing space. I've never tried using this monitor for any gaming or HD video, so I can't comment there, but I have used it's 19" breathern for those purposes and never had any major complaints with them.
